Six months ago, he left his friend's house in the middle of the night to escape the hurt of rejection by the woman he's loved for years, but can never have. Now, oblivion seems just around the corner. Darkness beckons. No more pain of unrequited love, no more heartache, for the new Earl of Kinraven is slowly going insane.

But Spencer has a guardian angel that's traveled all the way from England, because she knows something's wrong. A woman that's returned his feelings for years, yet never dared tell him. But as Larissa joins him in the dark and foreboding castle in the Scottish Highlands, she soon realizes there might be some truth to the curse that's destroyed every Kinraven heir so far.

But behind every curse, there's a person that utters it...Keeps it alive.


This is what "saving the best for last" means.

A chilling, thrilling, and slightly scary story with eerily vivid narrative and descriptions, great cast (I knew Spencer would be a good hero, Larissa was simply perfect, but I utterly adored Dorcas), wonderful suspense with that all important (and missing in the previous book) red herring that keeps you guessing and leaves you with your mouth agape when the truth is revealed, just the right amount of paranormal to keep it interesting, and just the right pacing. Balanced, I'd call it.

Yep, this last one truly was the best.
